UDDI defines a universal method for enterprises to dynamically discover and invoke Web services. The standard is advanced through an open process by the OASIS UDDI Specification Technical Committee, a group that encourages new participation from developers and users.

- The Universal Description, Discovery, and Integration (UDDI) protocol is a a platform-independent framework for managing Web services relationships and interactions. A UDDI registry classifies, catalogs, and manages Web services, so that they can be discovered and consumed by other applications.
- What is the current status of UDDI?
- UDDI currently stands at version 3.0.2, ratified in February 2005. This version provides key capabilities for enterprise-level deployment and is a mature, well-supported standard. Its feature definitions are stable and backwards-compatible with earlier versions of the standard.
